31.3.76 II

Inn. Mid C18 with late Cl9 and C20 alterations and additions. Rubble,
rendered, colourwashed at left return, double Roman tiled 2-span roof with raised
coped verges, crestings and brick gable stacks. Front and rear parallel ranges
with wing to left. Main range of 2 storeys and 3 windows, all sashes in exposed
boxes at first floor, ground floor has 2 C19 plate-glass windows with mullion and
transom and upper lights, pilasters to sides, frieze with shaped sides and
cornice, central 2-light plate-glass window, formerly door, with pilasters and
pediment on brackets, string course at mid ground floor level, quoin strips,
parapet and coping. Attached to left, lower 2-storey wing with 1/2-glazed door in
stone surround with cornice. At left return, wing formerly had 2 windows,
replaced by C20 glazed double doors and plate-glass window. Rear of wing has
pitched roof behind parapet, 4-pane sash and glazed door; rear of main range has
3 plate-glass sashes with wider central pane at first floor, ground floor has
plate-glass sash to right and C20 single storey lean-to to left, connecting inn
to single storey former outhouse. Interior: not inspected.
