House. Possibly C17 incorporating some medieval material, partly rebuilt and
refronted mid to late C19. Coursed limestone rubble and ashlar limestone; and
moulded Ketton stone details. Collyweston stone slated roofs. Two storeys
with attics. Main east-west range with projecting wing to right hand.
Parapet gables with end stacks and ridge stack to right of centre, left hand
stack with paired ashlar shafts and cornice, right hand stacks both with
paired octagonal ashlar shafts. Entrance porch to left of centre with parapet
gable and finial, panelled door shaped to four-centred chamfered arch. Two
storey bay window to left hand with parapet facade gable behind, and with hung
sashes in four-centred heads with spandrels. Square-planned bay window to
right hand with hung sashes between ovolo mullions, two first floor casement
windows with two lights and one three-light casement window at each floor of
cross wing. Two gabled casement dormer windows. The house was altered by
John Lawrence, agent to Elton Hall estate c.1860. The wing to the right hand
formerly extended to the road.
