Gate piers and quadrant walls. Early C18 and early C19. For William
Chaytor. Painted ashlar gate piers, coursed red sandstone quadrant walls,
brown sandstone piers. 2 main gate piers, C18. Square in plan, of
chamfered banded rustication on square bases, with plain entablatures,
cornices, stepped bases to urns. C18 quadrant walls are partly roughcast,
and have C19 brown sandstone coping. Quadrant walls terminate in C19 brown
ashlar piers, square in plan, with cornice caps with pyramidal tops, forming
corner with later garden walls not of special interest.
