House in row. Early to mid C19. Rendered, slate or
asbestos-cement slate roof.
In 2 stepped units; the main range in 2 storeys with 2
windows; plain sashes, with a central 6-panel door in fluted
pilasters and frieze with paterae, and cornice. Stone moulded
cornice, blocking and parapet, returned approx 0.6m at the
ends, which have gable stacks. To the right is a lower range
with asbestos-cement slated roof, in 2 storeys, 1 window; a
large canted oriel with plain sashes over wide plank doors
with a 6-pane transom light. Red brick stack to the right.
The smaller unit was probably built as a fill or service block
between this and No.48 (qv).
