2/20 Rowton Cottage

Cottage, early C18. Sandstone with slate roof, 2 storeys, 2 bays,
double pile. 6-panel door in stone pedimented doorcase. Flush
casements with single glazing bar, stone sills and deep skewback
heads. Gable windows are small sashes, with exposed weight boxes,
divided into twenty squares. The side door (north) is of wide boards
on strap hinges. There is a small stone farm building linked to the
cottage at the rear (east).
Interior: Ledged and battened doors on strap hinges. Original
staircase with winders. Exposed chamfered beams. The original cleft
rafters are exposed on the landing.
