SX 26 SE MENHENIOT

11/69 Two flights of steps 8m to south
west of Cartuther Barton

GV II

2 flights of steps on garden terraces. Circa late C17 or early C18. Granite. 2
flights of steps leading from main entrance of house to south-west. Both flights
have low flank walls swept out to wider steps at lower level towards house. Lower
terrace with 7 and upper terrace with 10 granite monolith steps flanked by parapets
with moulded granite copings. Square newels with moulded caps at top and bottom of
terrace. Granite ball finials to 2 intermediate newels. Compare with terraces on
painted panels of powder room. (q.v. Cartuther Barton).
