Farmhouse and farm cottage, mid/late C18; entrance front refaced early C19.
Mid/late C19 outhouses and left extension to cottage. Dressed sandstone;
mid-C20 Gaelic clay tile roof with stone gable copings. Brick and pantile
outhouses. 2 storeys; 3-window farmhouse and left one-window cottage.
Farmhouse has central boarded door and overlight, in double-keyed
architrave. Mid C20 casement windows in early C19 keyed openings, with sill
bands. Blind window above door holds partly-renewed wood sundial inscribed:
"David Appleton 1772". Farm cottage has right late C20 door in early C19
opening; similar windows. Corniced ridge and end stacks. One-storey pent
outhouses adjoin ends; lean-to cottage extension. Renewed horizontal sash
window and 2 boarded garret lights in left return of cottage. Rear of
farmhouse shows central boarded door in Victorian wood
pilaster-and-entablature surround, and quasi-Venetian stair window, with
glazing bars, at left end. Late C20 front porches and porch at rear of
cottage, are not of special interest.
