Grammar School, now a house. Dated "Free School 1684". Rendered; slate roof;
rendered stack with moulded cornice; moulded and coved eaves cornice. U-plan,
in a plain late C17 classical style. 2 storeys; basement and attics in hipped
dormers. 2:3:2 bays: the outer bays are advanced as wings with hipped roofs.
Glazing bar sash windows; 1 leaded cross window to south elevation. Single
storey early C19 extension fills the space between the wings: coped parapet with
ball finials; French windows and recut date plaque over. Interior: dog-leg
staircase with winders, closed moulded string and turned balusters.
