House. Possibly late C17 origin, remodelled mid C18, rear wing of early C19
with mid C19 and C20 alterations. Rubble, rendered, limestone bay, pantiled
roof with raised coped verges and gable stacks. L-plan. Front at former gable
end has gable end to left of 2 1/2 storeys and 2 windows, all sashes, with 2 small
fixed lights at attic of 12 small panes each; lower 2-storey wing to right has
16-pane sash at ground and first floor, round-headed door opening to left with
6-panelled door and fanlight with splayed glazing bars. Left return has canted
bay through 2 storeys to right with fielded panels in stone above ground floor
level, dentil cornice and parapet, plate-glass sashes with wider central pane,
ground and first floor to left have sash with wider central pane, first floor
central similar smaller sash, central rooflight and bellcote, attached to left a
single storey outhouse, not rendered, with pyramidal roof. Right return has
2-span roof to rear wing, ground floor right has 2 sashes, first floor right
sash, lower single storey wing to right has C20 2-light casement. Rear gable
end to right has 2 attic lights, first floor left 2 sashes in wing, sash at
ground floor right; wing to left has pitched roof behind parapet, C20 2-light
casement and door; outhouse to right, attached by covered way, has window
opening with brick segmental head and iron stanchions. Left return probably
originally front of house. Interior: not inspected.
