ST 46 NE BACKWELL WEST TOWN ROAD (north-west side)

6/35 Rushmoor Grange

G.V. II

Detached house. Mid - C17, altered C18 and extended c.1800. Rubble; double
Roman tiled roof; brick and rubble stacks. Single storey and attics in five
C19 gabled dormers. Four 3-light casement windows on ground floor. Central
panelled door in C19 porch. To the right is a 2 storey extension of coursed
rubble: glazing bar sash window in plain stone surround with triple keystone;
moulded cornice and brick parapet. Interior. The dining room and study have
deep chamfered beams; moulded overmantel to blocked fireplace. Formerly a
cross passage plan with hall and parlour to right and service end to left.
