Newton Ferrers House

Possibly blacksmiths with stables to rear. Now used as store and garage. Possibly
early C18. Stone rubble with slate roof with gable end on north and half-hipped end
on east. Corrugated iron on north. 'T' shape plan with main range running from
south to north, further extended on north. Short projecting wing on east.
1 storey and loft. South gable end forms back cloth for Nymph (qv statue of nymph
100 m to north of Newton Ferrers House). Gable with parapet coping and ball-finials
at eaves. Plank door in east elevation. Wing to east with 2-light window on ground
floor with timber lintel. Extension to rear with double doors and C20 sliding doors
on west.
Interior Simple fireplace with dressed stone arch. Interior altered with upper
floor removed. Roof structure replaced.
