Part of an early C19 row of cottages, each of two storeys, one window, symmetrically
composed with the four central ones projecting slightly. Comprises the four western
houses and three of the central block, the others having suffered alteration. Roughly
coursed rubble with slate lacing courses, large irregular quoins, roofs of graduated
lakeland slates, brick ridge chimneys. Slate lintels and cills to sash windows with
glazing bars in wood architraves. Similar lintels to modern doors with glazed top
panels. Wide stone doorslabs and narrow cobbled forecourt. Rear elevation shows small
Yorkshire sashes upstairs and modern tunnel extensions for domestic offices.
