Pair of cottages, early C17 with later alterations and additions.
Brick nogged timber frame with machine tile roof. 2 storeys, 3-bay
facade, including gable, 2-bay return (north-east) giving an "L"
shaped plan. The south gable is in red sandstone. Brick plinth.
Small framing with angle braces. Ledged and battened doors. Replaced
flush casements with glazing bars. The upper windows are in gables
and half dormers. There are cast-iron lattice casements at both
levels at the rear (east). Stone stacks with diagonally set divided
brick flues.
Interior: Original stone ovolo moulded mantels, deep bevelled beams
and exposed ceiling joists.
