GV II*

Lodge to Astle Hall. Late C18/Early C19. Whitewashed English garden
wall bond brick with stone slate roof. 2 storeys. Drive front: 3
bays, central projecting bay with 4-light ground floor window with
iron-frame of interlacing tracery and decorated leaded panes.
Two-light Y-tracery window to either side. Verandah in front formed
of tree trunks supporting the roof, one pillar to each corner and 2
pairs in front of the projecting central bay. Gabled dormer window
above central bay with 2-light Y-tracery and decorated leaded panes.
Graduated roof tiles. Central C19 chimney stack. C20 extension to
rear. A well preserved example of a Picturesque Lodge.
