Wayside cross-cum-boundary stone. Late C.18. Roughly dressed
limestone shaft. Approximately 1 m high by 32 cm by 23 cm. E. face
inscribed: "S. W. face inscribed "G.
Hob on R.C.
the Hill 1798"
S.K."
N. face inscribed: "G" at top of shaft and with bench mark at base.
On a cairn scheduled as Ancient Monument No. 37a; at junction of
boundaries of Guisborough, Lockwood and Commondale Civil Parishes
and on the Cleveland/North Yorkshire county boundary.
