Barn, mid/late C18; stable, early C19. Painted brick, on 3 lower courses of
dressed sandstone. Clay pantile roofs with stone ridge and gable copings;
shaped kneelers on stable and block kneelers on barn. L-plan range. South
face of barn, left to right: stable door flanked by paired slit breathers;
inserted window and loft door partly obliterate 2 of 7 sets of
figure-8-pattern breathers, below brick corbel table at eaves. Roof hipped
at left end. Boarded double doors and overlight under timber lintel, below
patterned breathers and corbelled dove opening, in east gable. North face,
largely obscured by extension, has 2 stepped brick courses at eaves. West
face of stable has 2 boarded first-floor windows and mid C20 window at right
end. Brick corbel table at eaves. Roof hipped at right end. East face
obscured at left end by barn extensions. Openings altered mid/late C19; 5
ground-floor openings, alternately doors and windows, with boarded double
doors at right end. 4 boarded first-floor windows. 2 stepped brick courses
at eaves. C19 one-storey extension at north end of stable, and timber and
iron extensions adjoining north and south faces of barn, are not of special
interest. Included for group value.
