House. Circa early C18. Rendered and painted stone rubble with rag slate roof,
bitumen covered on front slope with gable end on left and half-hipped end on right.
Rendered and painted projecting stone rubble chimney stack with tapered cap and cloam
oven projection on left-hand gable end. Possibly at least 1 early crested ridge
tile.
2 room with through passage plan with kitchen in larger room on left and unheated
parlour on right. Extended to rear with service rooms and C19 stair in outshut
beneath catslide roof.
2 storeys, asymmetrical 2-window front. Ground floor with 2 C19 2-light casements
with glazing bars and partly glazed C20 door near centre with slate hood. Above, C19
2-light casement on left with C19 single light casement with glazing bars on right.
Interior with renewed lintel to fireplace. Partitions of through passage removed to
form single large room with C19 stair in outshut to rear. Roof timbers not
inspected.
Voss is an interesting example of an early C18 2-room plan house.
