GV II*

Tithe barn, converted into a house, now used for storage and
recreation room. C16. Coursed squared gritstone with gritstone
dressings and quoins. Plain tile roof with one brick stack in
the pitch of the roof. Two storeys. North elevation of four
bays. Central doorway with moulded round arch, ashlar spandrels
and hoodmould. C19 doorway set in, with ashlar jambs and plank
door. To the left is a 3-light recessed and chamfered mullion
window, a segmental arched cart entrance and a similar 3-light
window. To the right is a similar 3-light window, a C19 doorway
with stone lintel and a C19 gabled cart shed attached to north.
The first floor has four 3-light recessed and chamfered mullion
windows and a C19 doorway with plank door. West elevation has a
3-light recessed and chamfered mullion window to each floor, the
upper one altered and partly blocked. The south elevation has
one similar window and two massive buttresses. The interior has
a double purlin roof with diagonal queen posts and diagonal
braces.
