4/100 Stile at approx 400m north west of
- Trevince House and boundary stone
to south
GV II
Stile and gate-piers and boundary stone. Probably late C18, incorporating reused
fragments. Granite ashlar and rubble. Stile to side of gateway for cattle grid of 6
granite sleepers flanked by low side walls; the east wall against a field hedge of
vertically-set stone; the east wall stepped up to higher level with granite coping,
its back against one of a pair of monolithic gate-piers of square plan with pyramidal
tops.
Stone to south wall of stile (north side) has inscription of: T.D. 1657. and stone
ledge to north has undecipherable inscription. Both dressed granite monoliths
forming side ledges have rebated ends.
Low boundary stone at approx 2 metres to right (south) of south gate-pier has mostly
hidden incised inscription facing road (west).
