SW 83 NW ST JUST IN ROSELAND ST JUST

2/112 Lychgate at approx 10 metres east
- of Church of Saint Just

GV II


Lychgate. First built 1632, possibly rebuilt circa early C19. Dressed slatestone
with low pitched scantle slate roof with cusped wooden bargeboards. Square on plan
with side walls only. Covered walkway east-west. Dressed stone jambs spanned by
segmental arched wooden lintels with moulded edges and plain plaster gables over.
Interior has granite cattle grid to floor (spaces between now filled), side ledges
with wooden seats and 2-bay arch braced roof structure.
