SW 83 NW MYLOR GREATWOOD

4/206 Greatwood Cottage

House. Circa late C18. Painted rubble with slate sills and wooden lintels (now
cemented over). Dry Delabole slate roof half-hipped to left (south) with thick brick
chimney over large rubble breast projecting from side wall and further brick chimney
over ridge of party wall, right. Roof sweeps lower to rear.
Plan of kitchen/living room, left, and slightly smaller parlour, right, with cross
passage leading to nearly central L-stair turning to the right, plus later single
storey 2-room outshut at rear and small C20 extension to rear left.
2 storeys. Nearly symmetrical 3-window east front with doorway and window over,
slightly off-centre to right. C20 top-glazed door and small open wooden porch.
Windows are original 12-pane 2-light casements with thick internally ovolo-moulded
glazing bars.
Interior not inspected.
One of the few C18 houses in this area to escape serious C20 alteration and notable
for its original casements.
