National school, 1849. Shale rubble walls with granite quoins, plinth coping,
jambstones, sills, mullions, arches and lintels. Steep dry Delabole slate roofs with
projecting eaves and shaped wooden barge boards and turned wooden pendants to gable
ends. Main roof surmounted by sprocketted pyramidal-roofed louvered cupola.
Plan of 1 rectangular schoolroom with porch to front, left. Tudor style. Single
storey originally but floor inserted circa 1970's. North entrance front has porch,
left, with steep 4-centred arched outer and inner doorways and single-light window to
east wall. 4-light flat-headed mullioned window to right of porch. Similar 3-light
window with relieving arch to east gable end and to south wall, right, with blocked
4-centred arched doorway left. South gable blind but internal cupboard may be in
fireplace position.
Interior: remodelled C20 but retaining original arch-braced roof structures, partly
visible to first floor and fully exposed in porch. Original arched ledged and braced
doors with original door furniture.
