House. Circa 1600. Timber framed, partly plastered, partly with frame exposed
and C20 brick nogging, roof thatched. 4-bay range facing NW, with axial stack
one bay from left end and external stack at right end. One bay-service wing to
rear of second bay from right end, with external end stack. Early C19 extension
in left rear angle, with internal stack at the junction. C19 single-storey
extension in right rear angle, of red brick in Flemish bond. 2 storeys and
attics. Ground floor, 3 early C19 sashes, of 16, 12 and 12 lights respectively,
one C20 splayed bay and one C20 sash. First floor, 4 early C19 sashes of 4 + 8
lights. C20 door. Chamfered axial beams with lamb's tongue stops, plain joists
of horizontal section (vertical section in rear wing). Jowled posts, arched
bracing trenched inside close studding, face-halved and bladed scarfs. Clasped
purlin roof. Original rebated floorboards. RCHM 25.
