House. 1792. Red brick in Flemish bond, and timber framed and plastered,
roofed with handmade red clay tiles. T-plan facing SW, with external stack at
each end of main range, internal end stack in service range at rear. C19
single-storey extension beyond, with hipped roof. Main range of 2 storeys and
attics, service range of 2 storeys. Ground floor, one late C19 square bay, one
late C19 sash of 6 lights. First floor, 2 original sashes of 16 lights, central
original sash of 12 lights. Attic, 2 C19 casements in gabled dormers. Central
6-panel door, fanlight with curved tracery, doorcase with open pediment,
triglyphs and guttae. Ground floor of brick, plastered above. In stack on left
return, recessed panel inscribed E.M. 1792. Associated with General Monk.
