Terrace of cottages. Early C19, said to have been built in 1816 by the
Blanchminster Charity. Roughcast stone rubble, Nos 13, 15, 25, 27, 33 and 35
have painted rag slate-hung fronts. Asbestos tile roofs with gabled ends at
various levels stepped up hill, No 19 has rag slate roof. Gabled end stacks
with brick shafts. Plan: Pairs of cottages in terrace with a gap between Nos
19 and 21 forming a passageway. Probably double depth plan with principal rooms
at front and smaller service rooms at back. Not including no 11 which has been
rebuilt and no 17 which is altered. Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 14
window range (excluding 3 and 1 window range of Nos 11 and 17 which are not
included in the list). Small sash windows with glazing bars. Nos 15 and 19
have original 16 and 12-pane sashes and No 31 has one original 12-pane sash on
ground floor. No 25 has small wooden bay window on ground floor with sashes.
All glazed doors, mostly C20 some with slate doorsteps. Rear elevations not
inspected. Including pitched cobble path in front of cottages. Interiors not
inspected.
