GV II

House converted into 2 cottages. Circa mid C17. Stone rubble, painted on right. Rag
slate roof with gable ends and gable ended parallel range to rear. Projecting stone
rubble end stacks with brick shafts and brick end stacks to parallel range to rear.
Plan: Possibly originally of 2 room plan with entrance near centre. Probably
converted to form two 1-room cottages in circa mid C18. In circa mid C19 a parallel
range was added to rear, providing an extra room for each cottage.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Regular 3 window front with Ivy Cottage on left and Lemon
Cottage on right. C20 window to left, circa C19 stable type door and lean-to glazed
C20 extension across ground floor of cottage on right with C20 door and early C19 2-
light casement within. First floor with C20 window on left, circa early C19 2-light
casement in centre and 2-light casement to right replaced in late C20.
Interior: of Lemon Cottage with C18 and C19 plank doors with original strap hinges.
Interior: of Ivy Cottage not inspected.
