Description

TREVALGA TREVALGA
SX 09 SE
1/241 Trevalga Farmhouse, garden walls to
front and outbuilding adjoining on
right hand gable end
GV II
Farmhouse, garden walls to front and outbuilding adjoining on right hand gable end.
Possibly with late C16 or early C17 origins, partly remodelled in C19 and C20. Slate
stone rubble. Slate roof with gable ends and slate roof with gable ends to parallel
range to rear.
Plan: Original plan uncertain although the house appears to comprise 2 rooms and a
cross passage, a small room on left and a larger room on the lower side on right,
both heated by gable end stacks. There is a blocked opening into the circa late C18
outbuilding which adjoins the right hand gable end. In circa mid C19 a second
parallel range was added to the rear to form a double depth plan. Churchtown
Farmhouse, qv, was added on the left hand gable end in circa early to mid C19.
2 storeys. Regular 4 window front. 2-light horizontally sliding sash to left of
wide plank door and C20 2-light casement with glazing bars to right. First floor has
3 horizontally sliding sashes with a C20 2-light casement on right.
Interior with C19 and C20 plastered ceilings and C19 and C20 joinery. Roof structure
not inspected.
Wall of slate-stone rubble encloses garden to front of house. On right hand gable
end a single storey outbuilding of stone rubble with lower rag slate roof with hipped
end on right. Interior not inspected.
