Farmhouse. C18, extended circa mid C19. Dressed coursed granite to C18 front;
stucco to mid C19 front, otherwise granite rubble with granite dressings. Grouted
scantle slate roofs; hipped roof over the front with stuccoed brick chimneys over the
side walls and C18 dressed granite chimney over rear (west) gable end.
Plan: L-shaped plan. Double-depth-plan C19 addition at the front with 2 front rooms
flanking a central hall leading to probably a stair hall between rear service rooms;
and behind the right-hand side of the house is a one-room-plan wing which is the
remains of the C18 house. On the right is a C19 low 2-storey possible wash-house or
kitchen wing.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3 window east front (except that left-hand window
is a canted bay window inserted circa late C19. Granite plinth and rusticated
quoins; moulded stucco hood over right-hand window; moulded stucco first floor sill
string and moulded, eared first floor architraves. Projecting eaves. Central doorway
has C19 4-panel door and single-pane overlight. Circa late-C19 4-pane horned sashes.
Rear wing (original south front) has a 2 window front remaining from probably a
symmetrical or nearly symmetrical 3 window front with central doorway. The doorway
and narrow window over now adjoin the angle with the C19 house. Wide left-hand
window opening has flat arch with projecting keystone; narrower window opening over.
Circa late C19 or C20 door with overlight and horned sashes of the same date.
Interior not inspected.
