Mill now converted to living accommodation with adjoining miller's house. C18 house,
extended in the C19; probably C18 mill remodelled in the C19.
Plan: Overall approximately rectangular plan. In the middle is the original 2-room
plan C18 millers house, heightened and extended on the left in the C19 and extended
with outshuts for service rooms at the rear at about the same time. On the right is
a deeper plan mill built at right angles to the house, deeper at the rear and with
overshot wheel on its right. Small C20 addition at far left.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Overall 4-window east front. Original 2 window front house
with remodelled doorway (now window) right of middle. Circa early-mid C19 hornless
sashes to first floor, C20 4-pane horned sashes to ground floor openings. On the
left is a 1-window front C19 addition with doorway on its right. Circa early C20 door
and 4-pane hornless sash of probably similar date to first floor left. Mill on right
has tall gable end at the front. Doorway at far left and window on the right and
above. C20 divided ledged door and 8-pane 2-light casements. Gable end is lower on
the right. Large complete iron wheel at right-hand end.
Interior: House has large C18 granite fireplace with unhewn wooden lintel at the
left-hand end of the original part and C19 moulded ceiling beams. First floor not
inspected. Mill has original C19 machinery in good condition.
