4/29 Barn at approximately 15 metres
- west of Banns Farmhouse
GV II
Barn, probably a granary over cartsheds and stables. Circa early C19, built in 3
phases. Granite rubble with granite dressings. Grouted scantle slate roofs with
gable ends.
Plan: Rectangular plan barn with approximately central waggon shed doorway (later
partly blocked) and opposing winnowing doorways on the right. Later extended with
lower cartshed and stables with loft on the left and lean-to on the right.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Original 1-window front barn in the middle, slightly lower 1-
window front extension on the left and later single-storey lean-to on the right with
one window in the front. Original openings. Doorway towards left is blocked, large
central doorway is partly blocked. Old ledged doors and old window with glazing bars
in small openings. There are granite steps up to the rear loading doorway.
