Pair of attached houses. Early - mid C19 with C20 alterations. Slatestone rubble
with stone dressings. Holly Cottage has hipped asbestos slate roof with stack to
right side with brick shaft. The Lodge has asbestos slate roof with gable ends and
axial stack with brick shaft.
Plan: Holly Cottage is of 2-room plan, with central entrance. The Lodge is attached
to rear, with its front at the right side; also of 2-room plan with central entrance
and with a one-room plan addition of the C19 at the right end.
Exterior: Holly Cottage is 2-storey, a symmetrical 2-window front; all windows are
16-pane sashes except ground floor to right a 4-pane sash. Central plank door. All
openings with brick segmental arches. Small addition in brick at the right side,
with 4-pane light.
The Lodge is attached at the rear. It is 2-storey, a symmetrical 3-window front, all
16-pane sashes with keystones. Central first floor window in blind, with a low
relief terracotta panel. Central half-glazed C20 door. Lower 2-storey wing attached
to right with round-arched casement at ground floor and pointed arched casement at
first floor, both with brick surrounds.
Interior: Not inspected.
