House with original house adjoining. C17, extended C19 and part of original house
converted to barn in the C19. Granite moorstone rubble with some granite dressings,
house front rendered. Grouted scantle slate roofs. C17 or C18 granite stack over
left hand gable end, C17 scrolled kneelers at right hand gable end.
Plan: possibly originally a 3 room and through passage house. Blocked front and rear
doorways of former through passage towards right. Rear (originally the front) has
round-headed doorway. Probably extended at the left-hand side in the late C17 or C18
and at right angles to rear left with 1-room plan wing in the C19. The original
house or the most of the original house, right, was converted into a barn in the C19
with external steps added on the right to gives access to the C19 loading/winnowing
doorway far right.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Overall 3 window north west front. 2 window front house, left,
with doorway towards right. C20 door and late C19 or C20 sashes and C20 casement at
left. Barn front, right, has original chamfered flat-headed doorway left of middle
and slit window left, possibly original, otherwise C19 openings. Circa early C19 9-
pane sash to first floor left and wide loading doorway with steps in front, right.
Interior: of house not inspected. Barn is floorless and unpartitioned. C19 roof
structure.
