Town Head Farmhouse

Range of mid/late C19 barns and byres of squared, snecked rubble with quoins under
hipped, graduated slate roofs. Central bank barn has entrance to rear and 2-storey,
7-bay front. 2 byre doors, each with single window to either side, and coach door
to ground floor; window and threshing door above. 2-storey, 6-bay byre range
adjoining north end of front at right angles has 2 doors to each floor, 3 windows
to ground floor; vent slits are small open lancets in chamfered stone surrounds.
2-storey, 2-bay byre range adjoining south end of rear at right angles has 2 doors
with a lancet vent-slit above each. Doors and windows have elliptical heads and
chamfered surrounds.
