GV II*

Outer garden terrace wall. 1806-10 by Sir Robert Smirke for 1st Earl of
Lonsdale. Calciferous sandstone ashlar walls with battlemented parapets.
Roughly C-shaped low wall with central lodge (listed separately) each angle
having a small rectangular turret with loops. Graded for group value with
Lowther Castle.
