Steps farmhouse with adjoining barn and byres

II

House with adjoining barn and byres. Late C17 with later additions and
alterations. Coursed rubble, with quoins, on plinth. House front stuccoed.
Graduated slate roofs with stair outshut to rear. 2 storeys. Original house
probably cross-passage plan of 4 bays with byre. 2 ground-floor sashes with
blocked 2-light stone-mullioned window between and blocked fire window to far
left, all under drip-course; right-hand sash probably replaced original door.
3 sashes above. Single-bay C18 extension to left; C20 part-glazed door with
sash above. Rendered chimneys. Byres adjoin to left and right under same roof
line; higher barn/byre added at right-angles to far left. Barn and byre
entrances to rear and returns. INTERIOR: Court cupboard built into
(cross-passage?) wall; large, but undated, with moulded doors. Chamfered
fire-beam is boxed in, forming shallow cupboards with similar mouldings to court
cupboard. Single-storey C20 corrugated iron building adjoining byre on left not
of interest.
