barn and byre ranges
adjoining either end

GV II

House with adjoining barn and byre ranges. 1755 date, with initials G.S. on
house door lintel. Lower barn and byre range to right predates house; barn and
byre range to left postdates house. All coursed, squared rubble with quoins.
Graduated slate roofs with outshuts to rear. All 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3-bay
house has central part-glazed door with 3-light window to either side on each
floor. All windows have stone-mullioned, chamfered surrounds with sash to
central light and fixed windows to flanking lights. Right-hand range is
subdivided internally: Byre on left has plank door,and 1st floor loft entrance;
threshing barn on right has wagon door and window to front with winnowing door
to rear. Left-hand range has byre door and fixed window to left, wagon entrance
to right; loft door and small fixed window to 1st floor. Stone end chimneys to
house.
