Farmhouse, C17 with later alterations. Roughcast rendered walls. Green slate
roof laid in diminishing courses. 3 round chimneys. Crow stepped gable to
left. Two storey gabled porch with slated roof to centre of front. C20 glazed
outer door. Heavy oak boarded inner door, probably with original hinges, in
heavy chamfered oak surround with fanlight above. 1 6-paned C19 timber window
to each side of porch, each with single opening light in iron frame. 1 6-paned
and 1 3-paned window of similar design to upper floor. Interior has circular
oak staircase (possibly concealing original stone stair) with stone newel; oak
panelled door and surround with frieze initialled and dated R. and E.K. 1644 in
bedroom, and bressummer in living room. See also RCHM p.108.
