Circa 1898. Gothic style. 3 storeys and gabled dormers. 3 bays with projecting
central entrance bay carried up as tower with spire (5 light wooden belfry) and
corner tourelles with gargoyle brackets. Fishtail slated roofs with ornamental
leaded dressings. Grit stone ashlar. Battlemented parapet with machicolations.
Casement windows of 2, 3 and 4-liglts with pointed heads, mullions and transoms
and hood moulds. lst floor with bay windows with parapets with '1898' in plaque.
Ground floor with granite Corinthian columns and pilasters carrying arched openings
with cornice and parapet above flanked by lions rampant bearing shields. Shop
windows witl arcaded top lights and deeply recessed central entrance.
