ADLESTROP DAYLESFORD VILLAGE

4/29 Nos. 8 and 9 (Daylesford Estate)

Two estate houses, semi-detached. c1870 for Harman Grisewood with
C20 extension. Coursed squared and dressed limestone and
sandstone with ashlar quoins, stone slate roof. L-shaped plan with
projecting porch left and projecting right gable-end stack.
Facade; gable-end projects forwards left, gabled half-dormer
right. 2 and 3-light metal casements with single horizontal
glazing bars and stopped hoods. 4-light canted bay to ground floor
of gable end. C19 plank door with decorated hinges within ogee
arched surround right of gable end. Round-arched head to
projecting porch. Plain stone shield towards apex of gable at
front. Flat gable-end coping with moulded kneelers. Triple
right gable-end stacks and axial stack from left hand gable.
Interiors not inspected. Mirror image of neighbouring house (Nos
10 and 11 q.v.).
