and quadrant walls
to north of Hall
GV II

Gates, gatepiers and quadrant walls. Piers and walls late C17 or early C18,
gates late C19. Squared stone with cut dressings; wrought iron. Square piers
with attached jambs and bolster rustication; chamfered plinths with carved
cherub on front partly hidden by present ground level, moulded caps with
swept drum finials showing relief-carved flowers and plant motifs, with C19
pyramidal tops. Quadrant walls with short panelled section adjacent to
gatepiers and low arched coping; rusticated end piers with low pyramidal caps.

Short lengths of railing link gatepiers to posts of double gates; square iron
posts with beaded ornament at angles and spiked globe finials; gates with
looped rails, ringed half rail and foliate tops to dogbars.
