Stables and Coachhouse. Late C19. Buildings Mound a courtyard, of
symmetrical form, with a tall main (east) block, of coachhouse with living
accommodation in an attic, flanking single-storeyed stables along the whole
of the north and south sides, ending at the west in lower (former piggery)
units, and a boundary wall on the west side, turned inwards to 2 piers
(forming the central entrance to the courtyard). Brick walls in English
bond, relieving arches; tiled roofs, mostly hipped. The east elevation
has sash windows to 3 dormers, and to the centre and sides of the ground
floor. The west (courtyard) elevation of the main block has a central
tower with a pyramid roof, on large eaves brackets, a clock face, and at
the top louvres below a pyramid cap. Below are 2 round-headed doorways,
and on each side larger double carriage entrances. The wings have small
windows and stable-doors to the courtyard.
