Cottage, now shop. Late C16, altered early C18 and mid C20. Timber
framed, partly encased in painted brick, part painted stucco. Old
tile gabled roof. Rectangular plan of one framed bay. Timber frame
visible at rear. 2 storeys and attic. Chimney on ridge on right hand,
part of chimney stack to No.43 Broad Street (listed separately as
18/4 & 17/3) Road front:-wooden modillion eaves. Painted stucco first
floor, with 2 sash windows in architrave frames, glazing altered. Early
C20 altered shop front on ground floor, glazed entrance door on right.
Interior:- heavy principal beams on ground and first floors, chamfered
with stepped stops. 2 similar cross beams on ground floor are missing.
Joists on ground floor are chamfered with stepped stop ends. Inglenook
fireplace, altered, this together with No.3 Shute End (_listed separately
17/8) may have been formerly part of No.43 Broad Street.
