2 cottages. Early C18 with C19 alterations, probably incorporating part of
house for which a reused lintel has been built into left return wall with
weathered initials, wheel and 1662 (or 7). Roughcast walls, under graduated
greenslate roof with roughcast chimney stacks. 2 storeys of 2 and 4 bays under
common roof. Orchard Cottage to right has plank door with C20 wooden porch.
Sash windows with glazing bars in C19 painted stone surrounds. Barford Cottage
has C20 door in weathered stone architrave. Sash windows in blind segmental
arches. Owner says that Barford Cottage was originally stables and Orchard
Cottage was divided into 2.
