House. Circa mid C19, service range on right (east) possibly older. Stuccoed front.
Hipped scantle slate roof except concrete tiles to front with brick chimney over end
wall, left, and over cross wall towards right. Cast iron ogee gutters.
Plan: 3 reception rooms to partly double depth main house and 3 rooms to wing
adjoining set back on right. Main part has larger entrance/stair hall between the
left hand room and the next room and basement kitchen behind the rooms on the right.
Exterior : 2 storeys. Main house has regular 4-window south front with doorway under
second (from left) first floor window. Panelled door with sidelights and overlight.
Circa late C19 4-pane horned sashes. 9-bay cast-iron verandah along the front.
Rear has original tall 32-pane stair sash.
Interior : fine stair hall and reception rooms with good plaster ceilings: open-well
open-string stair with moulded stick balusters and mahogany handrail wreathed over
the newel. All ceilings with egg and dart over bead and reel cornices but detail in
the ceiling bands different: trailing rose in left hand room, trailing fruit in
second room and acanthus detail in the right hand room.
