Kirkgate House

II


House dated 1587. Main range of lobby entry plan with crosswing of same date to
south. Red brick, English bond with cement tile roof and original red brick ridge
stack to main range and C20 end stack to crosswing. Two storeys, on plinth, with
rubbed brick band at eaves height to gable ends. Main range has three later windows
at first floor, two at ground floor and doorway opposite stack. In the north gable
end there is one original window opening, now blocked, with splayed reveals and a
diamond mullion of brick. Crosswing has three windows.
