Built for N Grantham c.1732. Two storeys in red brick with roof of graded Westmorland slates. Two pedimented dormers with sliding casement sashes. Cornice to roof early C19 replacement.

Centre break five windows, painted gauged voussoirs with keystones. Plain round-headed frame to six-panel door, keystone, simple fanlight. Later additions to sides and rear of house. Rear elevation twin gabled: wrought iron railings on the pattern of the hall balustrade at Hotham House.

Principal staircase round open well: open string, with carved ornament below each tread: alternate iron-twist balusters, moulded handrail with semi-spiral curtail and iron-twist terminal newel, fielded panelling to dado: c.f.Highgate House. Wednesday Market. Semicircular arch under the stairs to rear part: moulded imposts: keyblocks: moulded voussoirs, fielded panelling to soffits and reveals. Stone-flagged hall. Back tairs have closed string, slender columnar balusters, plain newel, and moulded handrail. Principal ground floor room has fielded panelling throughout: moulded dado rail, modillion box cornice: chimney-piece with moulded architrave and brackets to mantel-shelf. Doorway with moulded architrave and deep moulded cornice (c.f. Highgate House). Rear room has fine late C18 composition ornament ex situ. First floor windows have panelled window seats. Two wainscotted rooms on first floor, one with fielded, one with moulded panelling.
