Cottage. Early to mid C16 with C17, C18 and C19 alterations and extensions.
Timber-framed with plastered infill. Red brick upper courses to limestone
ridge stack. Timber-framed with plastered infill. Hipped thatched roof;
pantiled outshut. Two storeys and attic, three original timber-framed bays
with ogee braces in each bay and an additional bay to east. South elevation:
Early C19 door in small closed porch with tiled roof; three ground floor
sixteen-paned hung sash windows and four similar first floor twelve-paned
windows. Interior: Limestone stack possible early C17 with chamfered jambs
and mantel beam to hearth in west room. Exposed floor frame with stop
chamfered cross beams (qv The Old Manor House, and The Gables, Brington).
