Public House, C18, shell carstone with brick dressings, plain tiles renewed.
3 bays 2 storeys with 3 bay single storey ranges to left and right. Central
projecting single storeyed porch. End internal stacks, shafts in form of
cross, rebuilt. Central single storeyed porch an addition: embattled parapet,
chamfered 4-centred brick arch, arms, crest and motto of ffolkes family in
stone above. Casement windows under flat arches: of 3 lights with transoms
to ground floor, of 3-leaded lights to 1st floor; gable to central bay an
addition with 2 leaded lights. Left and right returns of galletted
Sandringham sandstone. 2 inserted windows to attic. Set back 3-bay single
storey additions to left and to right; that to right with return of galletted
Sandringham sandstone, bays 1 and 2 with 3-light casements, bay 3 with
addition of projecting porch with parapet and brick arch to match central
porch; that to left with inserted window to left, blocked central doorway
and 2-light casement to right. Many additions to rear of no architectural
interest.
