Farmhouse. Early C17 and C19. Rendered rubble and cob, asbestos-cement slate
roof. The right half; with lower ceiling and roof levels, was a 2-room cross-

was added a large extension to the left, with a new entry and porch, and a
gabled wing behind the left hand room. In 2 storeys, 2+2 windows; at ground
floor a lofty 3-light casement in projecting square gabled 2-storey bay, with
a 2-light at upper storey, and a further 2-light in half-gable above gabled
porch with segmental arch, and inner C19 panelled and part-glazed door. The
earlier half has a small 2-light, then, in 2-sotrey gabled porch, a large
3-light set back in former doorway, with a further 3-light to right. First
floor has 2-light in porch gable, and a 2-light in a half gable. Gable stacks,

block a series of large plastered transverse beams. A C19 stair with octagonal
balusters and mahogany handrail, and a square spiral wood stair. Many early
doors, one good C18 segmental-headed cupboard. Roof structure has numbered
and pegged trusses with 2 purlins; and at the far end a cruck-like principal.
Records show the farm to have been occupied by the King family in 1608. The
1851 census gives 15 occupants, including 6 servants, of whom one was a
governess.
