Also includes The Scheregate. C17 features, 2 storeys, attics and cellars,
the roofs tiled. Built on the old Town Wall. The north front was
considerably altered C18-C19 and is built up to a parapet. The upper
storey projects on the whole of the front on curved brackets, 3-window
range of double hung sashes with glazing bars. Additions on the west.
On the east is Scheregate an entry with a descending flight of steps and
the upper storey projects on the north (see under Scheregate). Small
ground floor shop immediately west of the steps. Possible invisible
remains incorporated in the foundations.
